We would strongly recommend stopping smoking at least 6 weeks prior to surgery to modify risks of wound healing and infection in particular. Smoking could lead to a poor outcome of cosmetic surgery.
​
Our patients often benefit from multidisciplinary assessment including clinical psychology in order to improve their outcomes.
​
Cooling off period would be required in most instances aside from skin cancer surgery or therapeutic mammaplasty for breast cancer.
