She holds a substantive Consultant post at the NHS Lothian. She is currently a Clinical Director for Plastic Surgery for NHS Lothian.

She has private practice rights in Spire Hospitals in Edinburgh, Waterfront Private Hospital in Edinburgh and King’s Park Hospital in Stirling. Her private practice is predominantly based in Shawfair Park Hospital in Edinburgh (day case and overnight stay) and Waterfront Park Hospital (day case surgery only).

In her NHS practice she regularly undertakes complex reconstructive and corrective surgery of the breast, body and face. In her private practice, she offers wide range of plastic and aesthetic surgery including also breast, body and face..
Education and Early Achievements
Dr Majdak-Paredes graduated from the Medical University of Gdansk in Poland in 2000. During her studies, she completed five electives in UK hospitals and participated in the Erasmus Student Exchange program in Belgium.
Ewa is one of the very few surgeons in the UK who undertook and completed 4-year PhD program. Her project concentrated on investigating genetic and epidemiological basis of breast and ovarian cancer syndromes affecting so many women, earning a prestigious Marie Curie PhD Fellowship from Karolinska University,enabling her to carry out advanced research at the Department of Human Genetics at Leiden University Medical Centre in the Netherlands. Her pioneering work received a rector award for excellence.

Specialist Training and International Expertise

After obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) in 2006, Dr Majdak-Paredes completed seven years of higher specialist Plastic Surgery training at renowned UK institutions including hospitals in London, Dundee, and Edinburgh. She pursued advanced subspecialty training in breast reconstruction in Chelmsford and Edinburgh Breast Unit, and enhanced her aesthetic expertise through a prestigious fellowship in Banff, Canada, sponsored by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS).

Professional Memberships and Recognition
Dr Majdak-Paredes holds dual qualifications with both the Plastic Surgery Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) and European Board certification (EBOPRAS). She has also completed voluntary Cosmetic Surgery Certification by the Intercollegiate Cosmetic Surgery Oversight Committee, ensuring her proficiency in all aspects of cosmetic surgery.

​Ms Ewa Majdak-Paredes has been recognised nationally and internationally. She has been a faculty at various meetings and courses including advanced BAPRAS courses. She has been working closely with Faculty of Medicine at the University of Edinburgh as a Clinical Lecturer teaching medical students and acting as a professional mentor. She has always had strong interest in teaching and research. She has published extensively in peer-review journals and is an author of nearly 30 publications. She often gets invited to review articles submitted to peer-review journals. She is heavily involved in teaching and training in all aspects of plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
Outside medicine, she has great passion for art including creating own paintings, drawings and textiles. She believes in the power of mindfulness and healthy lifestyle. Like many women, she is also a mother.
